Description

Love B’

Love, friendship and love. Three concepts that have always touched man, because he wants to love and be loved, he wants to have friends and give his friendship, he wants to be given completely to the other person and that to him. Wishing to offer today’s reader the position of the Fathers of the Church on the triptych of love – friendship – love, we considered it necessary to resort to their works and to quote here selected excerpts. And this is because the Fathers, in the multitude of their Words, Homilies and other works, make references to love, friendship
and love occasionally. That is, there are no independent works dedicated exclusively to our topic. Through the texts-excerpts that are quoted, it will be established that the Fathers give great importance to love towards God and neighbor. They point out the strong and weak points of friendship. They exalt genuine love. But they always reduce everything to the benefit and salvation of the soul. Because both friendship and love will eventually cease to exist, and as the apostle Paul says: Finally, these three will remain forever: faith, hope, and love. And of these, the greatest is love (1 Cor. 13:13).
